Josiah Lemmings: New Song Lyrics and Video

Idol reject Josiah Lemming is back in circulation. He signed up with Warner Brothers in case you haven't heard of it yet. Josiah was at MTV recently to promote a new song he wrote for his mom. Here's a video of Josiah singing the song. [h/t Fame Watcher]

And here is the song lyrics:

Take me to the church where my father and my mother
Prayed for me and my dear brother
While the angels undercover cursed our names
Children, do you believe in heaven?
Tell me, do you believe in heaven?
‘Cause there’s a place that’s filled with flames
And it’s calling out your name
So you best believe in heaven
With your blind and absent faith

And take me to the park where we played, the light went dark
And even jesus didn’t matter
’cause our souls were filled with laughter
And our laughter reached to heaven
While our sorrows went to hell

Take me to the fields where my father spent his days
Slaving for a beggar’s wage
The day is over, turn the page
There’ll be another when you wake
Waiting in your cup of coffee
And you hear our mother coughing
As you whisper to her softly
But we still hear we every strain
We still hear every strain

And take me to the house where my mother rests her bones
In that chair she rests her bones
Quietly, unsuspecting throne
Lock me out, but don’t deny her what she owns
Because i don’t believe in heaven
No, i don’t believe in heaven
There’s a place that’s filled with flames
And it’s calling out my name
’cause i don’t believe in heaven
Lock me out but don’t deny her what she owns
Lock me out but don’t deny her what she owns…

And take me to the church where my father and my mother
Pray for me and my dear brother
While the angels undercover cursed our names…

The Alchemist: The Movie

This should be interesting. Paul Coelho's The Alchemist is going to be made into a movie. I love the book like many others who were captivated by it. I never thought it will ever become a movie mainly because it's one of those novels which are just hard to translate to film.

But according to reports, Harvey Weinstein is rising up to the challenge and will produce a movie version of the book. Actor Laurence Fishburne will star and direct.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Will this movie turn out to be as bad as the rumors circulating around make it to be? If it is, will someone tell George Lucas to stop debasing my favorite movies as a child/teenager? God, George, you've given me numerous heartaches watching your silly Star Wars prequels. Am I going to go through the heartache cycle again?

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will have its premiere in the Cannes Film Festival which starts this week.

Movie Trailer: Blindness

Blindness directed by Fernando Meirelles' will be opening this year's Cannes Film Festival. Here's the trailer for the movie. Looks interesting. I'm looking forward to watching Sandra Oh and Gael Garcia Bernal in this film. They're among my favorites.

Cannes to Help Revive Ailing Philippine Film Industry?

An AFP story suggests that it will. However I believe that the quality AND the marketability of a film is what's most important. If Philippine film makers cannot come up with quality and marketable movies then no amount of Cannes participation will revive their ailing industry.

This year, two Philippine films are being screened at the Cannes Film Festival: "Serbis" by Brillante Mendoza which is competing for the Palme d'Or and "Now Showing" by Raya Martin which will be screened at the Directors' Fortnight.

Lyrics: Clay Aiken's Everything I Don't Need

This is still for my buddy Cristina who is such a big Clay Aiken fan. In case you missed Clay Aiken's In My Way Here lyrics which I uploaded earlier, you can find it here.

As usual we are uploading a video of Clay Aiken singing his song, Everything I Don't Need.

Everything I Don't Need

Get out of my dreams
There's no room left
Get out of my bed.
we did goodbye yesterday
Don't you think I heard what you said

You want to much
You play to hard

Well, well you invade my morning light again
Don't wanna answer the phone
I went to sleep last night angry
I'm sure I was alone
You know me well
Always ring my bell

And tell me what would I want from you
Cause you tried so hard to be who you are
but there's no way I understand what you do
The last of a dying breed
Well we've come this far,
But it has to stop
You're everything
Everything I don't need.

I don't wanna listen to answers
To the questions I didn't ask
It's all about you I wanna move out
before the breakdown starts.

It's all wrong
Won't you let me go

And tell me what would I want from you
Cause you tried so hard to be who you are
but there's no way I understand what you do
The last of a dying breed
Well we've come this far,
But it has to stop
You're everything
Everything I don't need.

You fill my head
You block my view
It's killing me
You're everything I don't need

If it's all I do I'll be free cause you've taken everything
Everything I don't need
What would I want from you ohhhh
Cause you tried so hard to be who you are
but there's no way I understand what you do.
The last of a dying breed
Well we've come this far,
but it has to stop
You're everything
ohhhh
everything I don't need.

Last of a dying breed
Everything I don't need

Lyrics: Clay Aiken's On My Way Here

This song is dedicated to my friend Cristina who is such a Clay Aiken fan. I don't know why she's such a Clay fan but then I wasn't able to watch American Idol, Season II. Howdy, Cristy? Here's your lyrics. Oh, and I added a Youtube video too :-)

On My Way Here
Clay Aiken

I took my first step
On that black and white kitchen floor
I sometimes wonder if that house
Is even there, anymore
I had my first glimpse of love
When I was five
I watched two people split apart
But still the three of us survived

I've seen the best
I've seen the worst
I wouldn't change what I've been through
I've touched the sky
I've hit the wall
But I did what I had to
Ooooohhhh

CHORUS:
On my way here
Where I am now
I've learned to fly
I have to want to leave the ground
I've fallen hard
But I've been loved
And in the end it all works out
My faith has conquered fear
On my way here.

Oh yeah yeaaah

My address has changed
Almost every year
I've found that standing still
Can quickly make a lifetime disappear
I'd rather try and fail
A thousand times denied
At least, whenever you feel pain
It lets you know that you're alive

I've been a fool
I've been afraid
Yeah, I've been loved
I've been lied to
I've been wrong
And I've been right
I stood up when I had to

Yeah Yeahhhh

On my way here
Where I am now
I've learned to fly
I have to want to leave the ground
I've fallen hard
But I've been loved
And in the end it all works out
My faith has conquered fear
On my way here.

No guarantees
I believed that I would find
An open door or a light
To lead me to the other side
I guess that is why

On my way here
Where I am now
I've learned to fly
I have to want to leave the ground
I've fallen hard
But I've been loved
And in the end it all works out
My faith has conquered fear
On my way here

Yeahhhh
Oooooohh

Can Film Festival 2008

At first I thought the Can Film Festival is either a spelling error or a joke. It turns out to be neither. The folks organizing it are dead serious.

You can join them if you are in London on 08 May. Here's part of their press release:

As the glitterati flock to France to celebrate another year of movie success at the Cannes Film Festival; the UK is getting ready for its very own Can Festival.

Launching on 8th May, the Prince Charles Cinema, Leicester Square will host the world's first ever Can Film Festival, which will then travel to Glasgow and Manchester on 15th and 22nd May. The unique festival has been organised to encourage people to recycle drinks cans.
What about that? A festival focused on recycling cans? Pretty cool idea if you ask me. You can visit the organizer's website for more information. By the way, they will be showing Leonardo di Caprio's 11th Hour. So if you're a Leonardo fan, you should mark this in your calendar.

Guerrilla Video Photos: Benicio del Toro as Che Guevara

Watch this photo-video of Benicio del Toro as Che Guevara. Pictures were taken from the set Guerrilla, Che's biopic directed by Steven Soderbergh. As you will see in the list here, Guerrilla will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival as part of the official competition.

I'll try not to get excited about this movie. The last time I got excited with a Soderbergh film, i.e., Traffic, I came out of the movie house a little disappointed. Not that the movie was bad, its just that the deafening buzz surrounding it made my expectations so high that I was bound to be disappointed.

For me, its best to go watch a movie without pre-conceived notions of how bad/good/great it will be.

Video: Clint Eastwood's Changeling

A report on the shooting of Changeling, the movie directed by Clint Eastwood which will be in official competition during the Cannes Film Festival.

Changeling stars two of our favorite actors Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich; we loved Angelina in Mr. and Mrs. Smith we love John in that tragic movie, Of Mice and Men.

Anyways, do you think Changeling will do well in the box office?
